The Areni grape was also called 'Black Malahi' until the name was changed in 1945. 

Varieties: Sev Areni (Areni Noir).

Origin and terroir:  Indigenous Areni  from Aghavnadzor village where the soil is volcanic and limestone at an altitude of 1300-1400 meters. 

Barrel Ageing: 6 months.

Alcohol content: 13%
